Calabash Cove chocolate cake recipe for 8 servings
2 cups sugar
2 cups flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
3/4 cup cocoa powder
2 eggs
1 cup oil
1 cup buttermilk or yoghurt
1 cup hot water
In a mixing bowl add all ingredients except flour.
Using a whisk mix together for 3 minutes until the blend is smooth.
Gradually add flour until batter is smooth,
Grease (round) cake baking pan and pour batter mix in pan, using a flat spatula to scrape all batter from bowl.
Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit or 175 degrees Celsius,
Allow cake to cool before cutting.
Serve with your favourite ice cream, whipped cream, liquid heavy cream, or drizzle.
